1.19 Is there a difference between the moon and fireflies in the day?

Sloka 19

प्रकृष्यन्तां अस्मत्परं इतरकाले विधिमुखाः

वयं मातः ते वा तव नुति दशायां समधियः

निकर्षोत्कर्षौ स्तां निशितु शशि खद्योत महसोः

दिवा को वा भेदो दिनकर करव्रात जटिले

prakṛṣyantāṁ asmatparaṁ itarakāle vidhimukhāḥ

vayaṁ mātaḥ te vā tava nuti daśāyāṁ samadhiyaḥ

nikarṣotkarṣau stāṁ niśitu śaśi khadyota mahasoḥ

divā ko vā bhedo dinakara karavrāta jaṭile

ப்ரக்ருஷ்யந்தாம் அஸ்மத்பரம் இதரகாலே விதி₄முகா₂:

வயம் மாத: தே வா தவ நுதி தஶாயாம் ஸமதி₄ய:

நிகர்ஷோத்கர்ஷௌ ஸ்தாம் நிஶிது ஶஶி கத்₃யோதமஹஸோ:

தி₃வா கோ வா பே₄தோ₃ தி₃னகர கரவ்ராத ஜடிலே

Meaning:  Mother! Let the omnipotent Brahma and others be great when they are describing something that has limited glory.  However, when both of us are of equal capacity when we are describing your glory (both of us are limited in our capacity).  Let there be a difference in the glory between the bright moon and the fireflies on a dark night.  Is there any difference between them when the Sun with its multitude of rays is shining in the day? ( both of them are equally dull)

தாயே! அல்ப பெருமையையுடைய பொருட்களை வர்ணிக்கும்போது எங்களுக்கும் சர்வஜ்ஞரான நான்முகனுக்கும் வேறுபாடு இருக்கட்டும்.  ஆனால், உன்னைத் துதிக்கும்போது அவரும் நாங்களும் சமமான புத்தியுடையவர்களே! வெளிச்சமற்ற இரவில் சந்திரனுக்கும் விட்டில்பூச்சிக்கும் அவர்களது ஒளியில் வித்தியாசம் இருந்தாலும் பிரகாசமான ஒளிக்கற்றைகளைக் கொண்ட சூரியன் விளங்கும் பகலில் அவர்களது ஒளியில் ஏதேனும் வேறுபாடு உள்ளதா? (அவர்கள் இருவருமே ஒளியிழந்தவராக உள்ளனர்)
