3.4 Special honor for SriMahalakshmi not available for the Lord's other wives

Sloka 4

शय्यागृहं तव पिता जगतां नियन्तुः

भ्राता दृगेक इतरः पुनरङ्गभूषा

वक्षस्यमुष्य वरदे त्वमवस्थिता तद

वाल्लभ्यमम्ब भवदीयमनन्यलभ्यम्

śayyāgṛhaṁ tava pitā jagatāṁ niyantuḥ

bhrātā dṛgeka itaraḥ punaraṅgabhūṣā          

vakṣasyamuṣya varade tvamavasthitā tada

vāllabhyamamba bhavadīyamananyalabhyam

ஶய்யாக்₃ருஹம் தவ பிதா ஜக₃தாம் நியந்து:

ப்₄ராதா த்₃ருகே₃க இதர: புனரங்கபூ₄ஷா

வக்ஷஸ்யமுஷ்ய வரதே₃ த்வமவஸ்தி₂தா தத₃

வால்லப்₄யமம்ப₃ ப4வதீ₃யமநந்யலப்₄யம்

Commentary:

The One who grants all the wishes! Mother! For the One who commands the Universe, your father is the resting place, your brother is the eye and another brother is the ornament.  You remain on his chest, the site of his prana.  Hence, your consort’s other wives do not get the honor of being his beloved.

வேண்டிய வரத்தைத் தருபவளே! தாயே! உலகை நியமிப்பவனுக்கு உனது தந்தை (கடல்) படுக்குமிடம், உனது சகோதரன் ஒருவன் (சந்திரன்) கண், மற்றொரு சகோதரனோ (கௌஸ்துபம்) உடலாபரணம் ஆவான்.  நீயோ அவனது பிராணன் இருக்கும் இடமான மார்பில் வீற்றிருக்கிறாய்.  அதனால் பர்த்தாவுக்குப் பிரியமானவளாக இருக்கும் தன்மை வேறொருவருக்கும் (அவனது பிற மனைவிகளான பூமி, நீளா தேவிகளுக்கு) கிடைப்பது அரிது.
