सुचारु मधु वीचिका रस मुचो वचो देवता

कुचामृत कचाकचि प्रथन चातुरी मेदुराः

नरास्सततमिन्दिरा गुण कथा सुधा दोहिनीः

उपाध्वमिह वेंकटाध्वरि कवेः उदारा गिरः

sucāru madhu vīcikā rasa muco vaco devatā

kucāmṛta kacākaci prathana cāturī medurāḥ

narāssatatamindirā guṇa kathā sudhā dohinīḥ

upādhvamiha veṁkaṭādhvari kaveḥ udārā giraḥ

ஸுசாரு மது₄ வீசிகா ரஸ முசோ வசோ தே₃வதா

குசாம்ருத கசாகசி ப்ரத₂ன சாதுரீ மேது₃ரா:

நராஸ்ஸததமிந்தி₃ரா கு₃ண கதா ஸுதா₄ தோ₃ஹிநீ:

Meaning: 

People! Please read with devotion the Lakshmi Sahasram- the words of the poet Venkatadvari, that praises with expertise the glorious qualities of Indira, that which is philanthropic, that which has words which compete with the sweetness of milk of the deity of words (Vakdevi), that which has words as sweet as the pollen laden honey- at all times.

மக்களே! வேங்கடாத்வரி என்னும் கவியின் வார்த்தைகளான, இந்திரையின் குணத்தைப் போற்றுவதான, வாக்தேவியின் இனிமையான பாலுடன் போட்டி போடும் வார்த்தைகளைக் கொண்ட, மகரந்தப் பெருக்கைப் போன்ற லக்ஷ்மீ சஹஸ்ரத்தை எப்பொழுதும் பக்தியுடன் படியுங்கள்.
