2.3 Kaustubam and moon became ornaments of Hari and Siva

Sloka 3

त्वयोज्वलत् दुग्ध पयोधि मध्ये महोद्वये देवि सहोदियाय

हरेः उरो भूषणं एकमासीत् अन्यत् शिरो भूषणं अष्ट मूर्तेः

tvayojvalat dugdha payodhi madhye mahodvaye devi sahodiyāya

hareḥ uro bhūṣaṇaṁ ekamāsīt anyat śiro bhooṣaṇaṁ aṣṭa mūrteḥ

த்வயோஜ்வலத் து₃க்த₄ பயோதி₄ மத்₄யே மஹோத்₃வயம் தே3வி சஹோதி₃யாய

ஹரே: உரோ பூ4ஷணம் ஏகமாசீத் அன்யத் ஶிரோ பூ₄ஷணம் அஷ்ட மூர்த்தே:

Commentary:

Devi!  The two gemstones Kaustubam and the moon emerged from the Thirupparkadal along with you.  One of them, Kaustubam became the chest ornament of Hari and the other (moon) became the head ornament of Ashtamoorthy (Siva).

தேவி! கௌஸ்துபம் சந்திரன் என்ற இரு ஒளி பொருந்தியவை திருப்பாற்கடலின் வயிற்றிலிருந்து உன்னுடன் தோன்றின.  அவற்றில் ஒன்று ஹரியின் மார்பலங்காரமாகவும் மற்றொன்று அஷ்ட மூர்த்தியின் (சிவனின்) தலையலங்காரமாகவும் ஆயின.
